SO I have a TON to catch up on. But I'm going to do movies first because my camera is like dead so I can't upload photos. So movies... since the last 2 movies i blogged about. PS, I had links to all of these movies IMDB but couldn't get them to work. Sorry :-( Maybe someday I'll figure out all the cool little things on blogspot. :-)
Super 8:
Starring Joel Courtney, Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Riley Griffiths, Gabriel Mills, Zach Basso. This movie is about a group of kids who are filiming a movie and witness a train accident. The rest of the movie unfolds information about the accident and the circumstances surrounding it. I had no idea why this movie was called super 8 until the middle of the credits when they explain it. No idea at all. But, it was an okay movie. Very cliche alien movie.
Soul Surfer:
Starring AnnaSophia Rodd, Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, Carrie Underwood, Ross Thomason, and Lorraine Nicholson. It's the story about a girl who is an amazing surfer and she gets her arm bit off by a shark and then gets back in the game and learns how to surf with one arm. It's an incredible story about not giving up even when you have the worst situation. The shark was definitely not the highest quality fake shark... but really, it was such a great movie. Loved it.
Source Code:
Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmina, Jeffery Wright, Michael Arden. This movie was about a soldier who finds himself on a train that is going to explode. The movie is basically the same 8 minutes over and over again but they change as he gets more information and struggles to find the bomb and who planted it. I really liked this movie. And it had a great ending...and then it kept going. I think they should have ended it when everyone froze because it was kindof perfect. But then they kept going so it could be a happier ending. I think they were trying to make it so people liked it better, but this person was more satisfied with the first ending. If i watch it again, which I would, I would turn it off at the first ending.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2:
Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint,Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman, Matthew Lewis, Thomas Feltman, and so many more people :-) I dont' think I need to say much about this one, obviously the epic conclusion to the phenomonen that is Harry Potter. The heros find themselves back at Hogwarts battling Lord Voldemort, you all know the story. Anyway, I decided to read the last part of the 7th book before I went to see the movie, I finished the book at 4:25 and went to the movie at 4:30 it was great. I had heard that the biggest complaint of the movie is that it didn't follow the book, but I thought it followed it very well. I was happy with the movie and I thought it was just great. I will definitely be buying this movie (of course, I can't buy the first 7 and then not this one.)
Thor:
Starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman. First of all.. Chris Hemsworth is SO attractive. The end. I really liked this movie although I don't know how I feel about the ending. I mean, of course there has to be a way for him to get back to earth for The Avengers (!) Coming May 2012 but it was like oh sad I'll never see this girl again. And then oh, actually you can get through this way. and who meets a guy, knows him for like 2 days and then waits for him forever, when he doesn't even live in the same planet?! But that is my unbelief in Long distance relationships coming out. Of course, they can work, and I'm assuming that Thor and Jane's will work because it's "Marvel"ous. Also, I guess I can see where she's coming form. I mean, if I had the gorgeous Nordic God of Thunder in love with me, I would totally wait for him too!! And can I just say after the credits... got me way excited for the Avengers. It is going to be so epic!! I know I'm kindof bashing the movie... but really, I totally loved it. It's on my must own list. It's probably my second favorite Marvel movie. After Iron Man of course. Tony Stark, don't worry, I'll always be faithful :-)
Captain America:
Starring Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Thomas Lee Jones, and Hugo Weaving. I loved this movie. Of course, I love most movies, let's be honest. It doesn't take much for me to love a movie. It's harder for me to not like a movie, point is, I loved this movie. My friend Charlie said it needed more action which is funny because I thought there was a ton of action, and most of the reviews I read agreed with me. But it was a different kind of action, remember, this did take place in World War 2. The movie was great, and I'd totally go see it again. And I'll probably buy it...because I loved it. But AFTER the credits... Oh. My. Gosh. The Avengers (again, coming May 2011!!) I'm so stoked. I can't wait to see them all together!! I feel bad for Captain America though. Everyone else's love interest is still alive. His...well, since it's been 70 years since he had his accident, I feel like his is dead. Shafty. But again, great movie!! :-)
X Men First Class:
Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, and of course the rest of the "Mutants" Wow, three Marvel movies in a row!! Think I like them or something?? Anyway, This movie, guess... I loved!! I thought the actors all played their parts well and it put me on a huge X Men kick. So I will be watching the other 3 movies this week. party!! :-)The day after I watched this, I went to work and picked up a Daily Universe (BYU's newspaper) and the headline was "compromise reached" and the first thing that popped into my head was "oh good, now the Americans and Russians aren't going to have a nuclear war. Then I remembered that that was the Cold War...a long time ago. and I laughed at myself.
So those are the movies I've watched lately in theaters. I love going to movies. Thank goodness for the dollar theater. And free movie passes complitments of my dentist. I'll put up another post real soon with pictures about the other things I have been doing, like going to St. George and Vegas and about my new cooking plan and the DELICIOUS dinner I made myself last night. Hasta!
