So Many Pictures!!

Okay, this post is catch up on a bunch of pictures that I have. So here we go :-)

This is the GIANT wasp nest that I found one day... I almost put my hand right on it, it scared me to DEATH!! So we got them exterminated and then I took a picture of the scary nest.

This one is my car clean!! YES!!

Once upon a time I was going outside at 7:30 to go to work. So I started driving and thump thump, awesome. flat tire. so...

I jack it up...

Take the tire off

and put the spare on. That's right, I can change a tire all by my little self. (Thanks Janet for having that car activity for Young Womens)so then I was on my merry little way when the unthinkable happened (!)

another flat tire, the spare, it hadn't been used in probably 10 years so I guess it's to be expected. So Macen (one of the barn boys) came to pick me up and we took my tires to Big O and that's the end of that little story. The point of the story is I changed my tire by myself. Hoorah!!

The most giant worm I have EVER seen!!

Natalie looks just a little... drunk maybe??

Oh Creigh...

My beautiful sister Natalie came and visited me twice this summer for a week each and we had so much fun!!

I live in such a beautiful place!! I love it here.

I wanted to be a statue...

I love these girls. They are my friend Charlie's cousins and they are s so adorable. Their names are Natalee, Kiara, and Lily. They are so fun!! :-)

My family and I went to St. George a couple weeks ago and went to Tuachan where we saw "The Little Mermaid" and "Grease" and they were both SO awesome!! One day we needed something to do because Grease was at night, so we went to...

I had never been and it was so cool!! Someday I want to go back and really spend time there (more than 4 hours) but it was cool and I loved all the Casinos. They are just the coolest buildings!! And on the way home I definitely had to watch Ocean's 11. Loved it.

Okay so that's all for this post. :-) Coming next: food posts!! :-) seeya!!

So much to blog about... so little time

SO I have a TON to catch up on. But I'm going to do movies first because my camera is like dead so I can't upload photos. So movies... since the last 2 movies i blogged about. PS, I had links to all of these movies IMDB but couldn't get them to work. Sorry :-( Maybe someday I'll figure out all the cool little things on blogspot. :-)

Super 8:
Starring Joel Courtney, Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Riley Griffiths, Gabriel Mills, Zach Basso. This movie is about a group of kids who are filiming a movie and witness a train accident. The rest of the movie unfolds information about the accident and the circumstances surrounding it. I had no idea why this movie was called super 8 until the middle of the credits when they explain it. No idea at all. But, it was an okay movie. Very cliche alien movie.

Soul Surfer:
Starring AnnaSophia Rodd, Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, Carrie Underwood, Ross Thomason, and Lorraine Nicholson. It's the story about a girl who is an amazing surfer and she gets her arm bit off by a shark and then gets back in the game and learns how to surf with one arm. It's an incredible story about not giving up even when you have the worst situation. The shark was definitely not the highest quality fake shark... but really, it was such a great movie. Loved it.

Source Code:
Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Vera Farmina, Jeffery Wright, Michael Arden. This movie was about a soldier who finds himself on a train that is going to explode. The movie is basically the same 8 minutes over and over again but they change as he gets more information and struggles to find the bomb and who planted it. I really liked this movie. And it had a great ending...and then it kept going. I think they should have ended it when everyone froze because it was kindof perfect. But then they kept going so it could be a happier ending. I think they were trying to make it so people liked it better, but this person was more satisfied with the first ending. If i watch it again, which I would, I would turn it off at the first ending.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2:
Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint,Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman, Matthew Lewis, Thomas Feltman, and so many more people :-) I dont' think I need to say much about this one, obviously the epic conclusion to the phenomonen that is Harry Potter. The heros find themselves back at Hogwarts battling Lord Voldemort, you all know the story. Anyway, I decided to read the last part of the 7th book before I went to see the movie, I finished the book at 4:25 and went to the movie at 4:30 it was great. I had heard that the biggest complaint of the movie is that it didn't follow the book, but I thought it followed it very well. I was happy with the movie and I thought it was just great. I will definitely be buying this movie (of course, I can't buy the first 7 and then not this one.)

Thor:
Starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman. First of all.. Chris Hemsworth is SO attractive. The end. I really liked this movie although I don't know how I feel about the ending. I mean, of course there has to be a way for him to get back to earth for The Avengers (!) Coming May 2012 but it was like oh sad I'll never see this girl again. And then oh, actually you can get through this way. and who meets a guy, knows him for like 2 days and then waits for him forever, when he doesn't even live in the same planet?! But that is my unbelief in Long distance relationships coming out. Of course, they can work, and I'm assuming that Thor and Jane's will work because it's "Marvel"ous. Also, I guess I can see where she's coming form. I mean, if I had the gorgeous Nordic God of Thunder in love with me, I would totally wait for him too!! And can I just say after the credits... got me way excited for the Avengers. It is going to be so epic!! I know I'm kindof bashing the movie... but really, I totally loved it. It's on my must own list. It's probably my second favorite Marvel movie. After Iron Man of course. Tony Stark, don't worry, I'll always be faithful :-)

Captain America:
Starring Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Thomas Lee Jones, and Hugo Weaving. I loved this movie. Of course, I love most movies, let's be honest. It doesn't take much for me to love a movie. It's harder for me to not like a movie, point is, I loved this movie. My friend Charlie said it needed more action which is funny because I thought there was a ton of action, and most of the reviews I read agreed with me. But it was a different kind of action, remember, this did take place in World War 2. The movie was great, and I'd totally go see it again. And I'll probably buy it...because I loved it. But AFTER the credits... Oh. My. Gosh. The Avengers (again, coming May 2011!!) I'm so stoked. I can't wait to see them all together!! I feel bad for Captain America though. Everyone else's love interest is still alive. His...well, since it's been 70 years since he had his accident, I feel like his is dead. Shafty. But again, great movie!! :-)

X Men First Class:
Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, and of course the rest of the "Mutants" Wow, three Marvel movies in a row!! Think I like them or something?? Anyway, This movie, guess... I loved!! I thought the actors all played their parts well and it put me on a huge X Men kick. So I will be watching the other 3 movies this week. party!! :-)The day after I watched this, I went to work and picked up a Daily Universe (BYU's newspaper) and the headline was "compromise reached" and the first thing that popped into my head was "oh good, now the Americans and Russians aren't going to have a nuclear war. Then I remembered that that was the Cold War...a long time ago. and I laughed at myself.

So those are the movies I've watched lately in theaters. I love going to movies. Thank goodness for the dollar theater. And free movie passes complitments of my dentist. I'll put up another post real soon with pictures about the other things I have been doing, like going to St. George and Vegas and about my new cooking plan and the DELICIOUS dinner I made myself last night. Hasta!

SUMMER!!!

Okay, I'm gonna try pics on this blog post. (it's about time I know) so we'll see how it goes. Yesterday my ward (Provo YSA 215!!) wen to the Manti Pageant. We actually started at 6:00 doing baptisms in the Provo Temple. After that, i did some work for Stan weeding at his house and then I took Amy to the airport in SLC because she is going to ORLANDO!! and I'm not. Can you spell jealous?? I can. A-N-N-I-E. We stopped at Burges for lunch... I love those waffles. Like a lot. It's this cute little shop in SLC owned by this fun Belgium man and the waffles have sugar crystals and they are made out of dough not batter. SOOOOO delicious. Anyway, we left for Manti at about 6. I rode with Sabrina, Matt, Justin, and Jared (Sabrina is in my ward, I just met the other 3.
So this is Matt with his ring pop. But then I educated him in the ways of taking pictures with rings...

Doesn't he look so happy...Congrats Matt! So, like I said the five of us drove up to Manti together...in Sabrina's bug. Sabrina and I were in the front. In the back was...

rub a dub dub 3 men in a bug.

After the pageant we camped out in the park in Manti and then came home this morning. Yesterday I finally bought plants for my garden. The garden was full of huge weeds, I wish I had a picture. But we got it all weeded, mostly Tina my fabulous roommate. I cam home and planted my VERY OWN GARDEN!! I have spaghetti squash, butternut squash, zucchini (only one zucchini plant) pumpkin, tomatoes, bell peppers, jalepenos, cilantro, corn, peas, and onions. I think that's it. So it's not a big garden, but it's my first time so hopefully it will work out and I can have some yummy home grown food in a couple months. I know it's way late to get a garden it, but most stuff I bought plants instead of seeds so it's already on its way.

the garden! hopefully the peas and corn will sprout so you can see them too!!

in my ward we have some awesome plants, so here are some pictures of those. I LOVE SUMMER!! And the beautiful plants at my house. so I thought I would share these pics as well.

the apple tree...complete with little apples!!

the beautiful peonies

the roses. I LOVE the big pink one. and the pink one that hasn't completely bloomed yet. gorgeous.

some of the other plants that make my yard so beautiful. love it!!

well, that's all I can do now. I've spent way to much time on here as it is. I have to go prepare a talk AND a lesson for church tomorrow. the lesson...ya I procrastinated. but the talk... i was only asked...4 hours ago, while we were in Manti. Wish me luck :-)
PS the pics didn't turn out too bad on here. I know some things are weird but hey at least I got them up!!

MOVIES!!

so yesterday I went to two movies. and I liked them both a lot. so here is my little opinion on them :-)

I AM NUMBER FOUR
starring: Alex Pettyfer, Dianna Agron, and Timothy Olyphant
Plot:Evil creatures from John's home planet are trying to kill him. He is number 4 of 9 now teens who escaped the destruction of their home planet, and they are the only hope to destroy the mavs (spelling...??)
It was pretty intense at parts...my nails are gone. Of course I'm not a real critic so I can't say how the acting was and the effects and everything...but I thought it was a good movie. I saw it in the dollar theater, I don't think I would have paid full price for it at a regular theater. I won't buy it for $25 but if I saw it for $5 or $10 I would probably buy it. I really enjoyed it. It ended so there could be a sequal, but I feel like there won't be.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
starring: Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, and Ian McShane
Plot: Barbossa, Captain Jack, Blackbeard and his daughter Angelica are all looking for the fountain of youth. There is a lot of action and fun sword fighting. As well as a love story between a young priest and a mermaid... and maybe something for Jack as well...?? Not amazing...it is the fourth movie. But it is good and if you've seen the other 3 I would say go see this one as well. I enjoyed it lots. I'm definitely buying this one. Not as good as the first movie, better than the third. They could potentially do a fifth with what they left the story with, and I'd go see it. and I'd buy it. But I won't hold my breath for an amazing movie.

Many Marvelous Matters

Well almost 3 months later... I think it's time to blog again. I made it through another semester!! I'm so glad it's over :-) It wasn't nearly as bad as fall semester. Being over the worst of my mono was decinitely a help in that regard. My finals went really well and have been done for 3 weeks. I rushed through them and had my last one on Tuesday morning at 7. That means I took 4 finals on Monday. In 3 hours. I'm pretty stellar. and I did well on all of them too. Just thought I'd mention that little fact. So since school got out I have been working at Student Services some 6 hours a day. It's great I love my office. The people I work with are SO amazing and I love getting to know the ones that I haven't known so well in the past. So maybe I should actually start where I left off with my last blog and catch up a little bit. February nothing really eventful happened. In March I went to regional basketball in Cody, Wyoming and got to watch a lot of basketball. It was fun to watch Natalie and Landon play. Landon is a senior this year so I couldn't miss his last basketball tournament!! They played well and made it to state!! They haven't been to state since I was a junior. That's kind of a long time. It was my brother's very first time at state basketball as a player so I'm glad that he got to go. Also while I was in Cody I got to spend time with my BFF Randi which was super fun cuz we NEVER see eachother. Except at Christmas. SO that was really exciting. Well, I couldn't NOT go to state, so I missed some more school and work and went to Casper, Wy. The boys lost out in their first two games, but Lando had some awesome 3's. I was basicailly the most proud sister in the entire world. I love my little brother so much!! Also while there I got to spend some time with my friend Paul, whom I also never see so that was fun. I'm a popular person, what can I say? :-)

Also in March my roommate and very good friend Colleen started dating a boy... Aaron. They are super cute and have been dating for almost two months now. How exciting!! Too bad for me, it meant I got really good at third wheeling. Also at this time Arianne (another roomie) was dating Carter, and I love those two. They are so adorable. It's great. Well, a month later Cristina (another roomie) started dating SamCole. They're kindof perfect for eachother. They're super funny and a little weird but we love them. Thank goodness for Amber (last roomie) who was also not dating anyone. BUT then Amber and Arianne moved out at the end of April which was really sad and we miss them a lot. Also, it now means that 100% of my rooommates are in relationnships. and I'm a pro at odd-number wheeling. :-) Also, I get a lot more sleep now so that's good.

Another big change in my life is the splitting of the ward. It was really hard when I heard that the ward was going to split. I love my ward so much and I was devestated. But I knew that it is what the Lord needed to happen so I just had a little faith and went with it. The new ward met for the first time on May 1. Honestly, during Church I wasn't too fond of it. I was like... "oh my gosh. This is not going to be fun." But I did like the Bishopric. They're pretty cool, a lot of energy, and a lot of fun. That night I went to ward prayer and got to know people in the ward better and decided that this might actually work. Also, I met a new friend from England which was pretty awesome. He's traveling the world. He stole my life. Church yesterday was a lot better and Ward prayer was great again. I really do like this ward. It's way different than my old ward but I think it's a good change. Also, it's good because it's helping me branch out from my roommates. I love them dearly, but I need more friends too. I kindof isolated myself to my roommates and my ward and now the ward is gone and my roommates are always busy with their bfs so this is really good. I am meeting a lot of really cool people, and getting to know some from the old ward (who are in the new ward) a lot better. I love it. So hopefully I'll get a calling soon and be able to be more involved with the ward. This ward is going to be awesome. Well, it's already awesome. But it's going to keep getting more awesome. Count on it.

Well I think that pretty much brings everything up to speed. I though a couple of times that I was going to be able to make it down to Orlando (and DISNEY!) to work this summer, but plane tickets are so expensive and I need to pay for school. So that's not gonna happen :-( All my disney buddies should just come to Utah. I'll show them all a good time Mormon style!! (Mormon's really do have the most fun, trust me :-)) But hopefully I can make it to Powell this summer and see Randi and maybe be there when Cory gets home from his mission...that'd be fun lol. and Cristina and I want to make a trip to St. George (I have never been farther South in Utah than Spanish Fork, which is really sad.) Tuacan has the Little Mermaid and Grease there !! How fun would that be?!

Oh, I also changed my major OFFICIALLY!! It's been quite the journey getting there. I was declared in Elementary Education. Halfway through my first semester I decided that I didn't actually want to go into that. It would be a lot of fun, but I don't think it's for me. So then I was thinking about biology, which is way awesome but what would I do with it?? I would want to go into Marine Biology but I decided that that wasn't right for me either. Also...way to much physics. gross. But I never actually changed my major. Next was Business. Entrepernurship. But I would hate my life with all the math involved. Another strike, with no major changed. Next, Family and Consumer Science Education. sewing and cooking. Honestly, this would be a lot of fun and I was pretty set. I was really close to going in and officially changing my major. But then I decided that that is such a hobby that I don't want to ruin it by HAVING to do it. So last week I went in and officially changed my major. Which I think is a pretty big deal And I'm really excited about it. And I have my graduation path, 2.5 years. I can handle that. It's almost right on to 4 years. I will have been in school for 4.5 years so that's okay. I'm a junior in college now. and JUST FINALLY decided my major. But I'm really happy about it. I have really been stressing about figuring out what I should major in and what I want out of life so this is a huge burden lifted. What is the new major you ask?? RECREATION MANAGEMENT YOUTH LEADERSHIP with an emphasis in COMMERICAL LEISURE SERVICES MANAGEMENT. my favorite words...recreation and leisure. Ya, I'm majoring, going to school for, recreation and leisure. Beat that. Coolest major ever. I'll be taking a lot of event planning classes, travel/tourism classes (which I'm super excited about!!) and outdoor recreation classes. My favorite class in High School was Project Adventure (scuba diving, cross country skiing, rafting, fly fishing...) so now I get to do that stuff in College too!! I'm stoked!!

Well, this blog has been pretty long so I'm gonna sign off now. hasta!! :-)
